The Brahms Four Songs Opus 17 is a rarely performed gem composed for SSAA Chorus accompanied by Piano and two French Horns. It features a set of highly diverse secular texts, including Brahms’s only choral setting of Shakespeare (#2, von Schlegel’s German translation of “Come Away, Death” from Twelfth Night).
The Mozart Vespers K. 339 is a robust, exciting setting of a collection of Psalms, and will feature our very first “Capital City Chorus Festival Orchestra” We are so excited to welcome this 16-piece orchestra, comprised of a number of Olympia’s finest players, to our stage for this work. This work will also feature soloists:
Danielle Tobin (Soprano),
Crystal Zimmerman (Alto),
Ryne Olson (Tenor),
Philip Kraus (Baritone).
