A road trip isn’t complete without a stash of snacks, as nothing helps pass the time quite like munching on chips or satisfying a sweet tooth with chocolate. While some travelers stock up before hitting the road, others prefer to grab their favorite treats during a fuel stop.

A new report from Kroger identifies the most popular and cost-effective gas station snacks across the country. The supermarket chain analyzed Google search data to determine the top snacks in each state and nationwide. Instacart data was then used to calculate the average price of each item.

The top-ranked gas station snack in the U.S. is Rice Krispies Treats, a nostalgic favorite for both kids and adults. The marshmallow-packed treat is the most popular choice in eight states, including Washington, Nevada and Hawaii.

Beef jerky follows in second place, ranking as the favorite in seven states, including Pennsylvania, Virginia and Kentucky.
