Blake Shelton Announces New Album ‘For Recreational Use Only,’ Set for May Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Blake Shelton is set to release a new album, For Recreational Use Only, in May, marking his first studio project under his new deal with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville.

The country star has revealed the album’s title, cover art, and tracklist, offering fans a preview of what’s to come. Shelton first teased the project with the release of its lead single, “Texas,” in November 2024. The song has already climbed into the Top 10.

On Friday (March 14), Shelton unveiled another new track, “Let Him In Anyway,” a powerful ballad about a man seeking divine forgiveness for a lost friend. Co-written by Hardy, the song has been described by Shelton as “one of the most powerful songs I’ve ever had the chance to record.”

“Hardy is a co-writer and a friend, and I’ve never heard a song like this before,” Shelton said in a press release. “When I first listened to it, I knew it was something special. It’s an honor to bring it to life, and I’m incredibly proud of the record we made.”

The album features contributions from some of Nashville’s top songwriters, including Zach Crowell, Chris Tompkins, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne. It also boasts guest appearances from Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani, as well as country legend John Anderson and Craig Morgan, who is currently touring with Shelton on the 2025 Friends & Heroes Tour.
