Spanish Prankster Turns Wedding Crasher into Lucrative Business

MADRID  — What began as a prank has turned into a full-time career for a Spanish prankster who charges $550 to crash weddings. Ernesto Reinares Varea, originally offering his services as a joke, is now booked solid through December as a professional "wedding destroyer," hired by brides with cold feet to derail their own nuptials.

“I have weddings scheduled until December,” Varea told Newsflash. “If you have doubts or don’t want to get married and don’t know how to refuse, don’t worry anymore, I’ll object to your wedding.” His unconventional service, advertised through social media, promises to cause a scene, giving reluctant brides an easy out. “You just need to tell me the time, place, and date,” he added.

“I’ll show up at the ceremony, claim to be the love of your life, and we’ll leave hand in hand,” pledged Ernesto Reinares Varea (pictured).

For 500 euros (about $550 USD)

Varea will show up at the wedding, claim to be the bride’s true love, and theatrically call off the ceremony. The stunt has become so popular that Varea's inbox has been flooded with requests from brides looking for a dramatic escape.

“What started as a joke has turned serious,” Varea said, describing how the overwhelming response has transformed his humorous offer into a profitable gig. The self-proclaimed "wedding destroyer" even charges extra if things get physical with enraged wedding guests. “Each slap is worth 50 euros,” he joked, acknowledging the occasional rough encounter.
