CAMO SHORTAGE FORCES MARINES TO LOOSEN UNIFORM REGULATIONS

WASHINGTON — A surprising shortage of the traditional 'woodland' camouflage pattern has prompted the Marines to adjust their uniform standards temporarily. Despite the ubiquity of camouflage in retail locations like Bass Pro Shop, the specific pattern used by the Marines remains scarce.
Officials say new supplies of the woodland pattern may not be available until next summer. In the interim, some Marines may be seen in their desert camouflage uniforms, leading to a mix in standard attire.
