HOMEOWNER’S ROOF WARNING MESSAGE TO DETER NOSY NEIGHBORS BACKFIRES SPECTACULARLY!
LAKE COUNTY, Illinois — In a playful attempt to deter nosy neighbors from spying on Google Maps, a homeowner decided to daub the words ‘watch p*rn, not me’ across their roof. However, the stunt has backfired spectacularly as tens of thousands of people are now flocking to view the eye-catching message.
The stunning waterside property is situated in Lake County, northeastern Illinois, renowned for its diverse natural landscape, ranging from sand dunes to prairies.
The crude graffiti, painted in white block capitals to sharply contrast the homeowner’s black roof, caught the attention of a Facebook user who shared an image of it with a group of fellow satellite imagery enthusiasts. As a result, the image of the roof message has made its way onto Google Images, making it visible to the entire world. The message appears to humorously mock those who spend excessive time browsing on Google Maps or poke fun at inquisitive neighbors.
Historical Google Maps images reveal that the text has adorned the roof since 2008, but it has faded over the past two years.
