Woman Issued Restraining Order Over Harassment by Flatulence

CARDIFF, Wales — A woman in Wales may be the first person in the United Kingdom to receive a restraining order for excessive flatulence.

The woman admitted to recording herself while intoxicated and intentionally passing gas before sending the videos to her ex-partner’s new girlfriend. However, she argued in court that she was unaware her actions constituted criminal harassment.

The judge rejected her defense and ruled that her behavior was unacceptable. As a result, she has been ordered to stay away from the victim—for both her presence and her flatulence—for the next two years.
