Lay's Recalls 13-Ounce Chip Bags Due to Undeclared Milk Allergen
Just days before the Super Bowl, Lay’s is recalling select 13-ounce bags of potato chips due to an undeclared milk allergen, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recall was issued after it was discovered that some bags contained milk-based ingredients not listed on the packaging. For individuals with a milk allergy, consuming the affected chips could cause severe or potentially life-threatening reactions.
While the recall is precautionary, Lay’s is pulling the mislabeled products from shelves to ensure consumer safety. However, the company has not reported any illnesses linked to the issue.
The recall is unlikely to impact Super Bowl party preparations, as production is typically increased ahead of the big game. Consumers with concerns are encouraged to check the FDA’s website for specific product details.
