NFL Considers Moving Super Bowl to Presidents' Day Weekend, Fans Could Get Monday Off

In a potential game-changer for NFL fans, Commissioner Roger Goodell has proposed shifting the Super Bowl to Presidents' Day weekend, potentially giving fans the Monday after off work. The idea surfaced during Goodell's appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, where he discussed reorganizing the league's schedule.

While most regular season games would not be affected, Goodell's plan includes adding another game by reducing the preseason. He expressed a preference for enhancing the regular season: "I think we're good at 17 [games] now, but listen, we're looking at how we continue. I'm not a fan of the preseason. The reality is, I'd rather replace a preseason game with a regular-season game any day. That's just picking quality."

Goodell also hinted at further expansion of the season: "If we get to 18 and 2, that's not an unreasonable thing," he mentioned. This change would not only extend the season but also align the Super Bowl with the long weekend of Presidents' Day, offering a solution for fans reluctant to miss work after the big game: "It ends up on Presidents' Day weekend, which is a three-day weekend, making it Sunday night and then you have Monday off."

This shift could significantly alter how fans experience the climax of the NFL season, turning Super Bowl Sunday into a more relaxed, celebration-friendly event.
