Researchers are making strides in replicating the health benefits of exercise with a pill, a development presented at the American Chemical Society's spring meeting.
Dr. Bahaa Elgendy of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis highlighted a chemical compound, SLU-PP-332, that mimics the effects of physical exercise on muscle fibers.
While the pill could benefit those who are sedentary, it is primarily aimed at individuals who are physically incapable of exercising.
