WASHINGTON  — Nurses continue to top the list as America’s most trusted profession, according to the latest Gallup Poll. The survey, which measures perceptions of honesty and ethical standards across 23 professions, found that 80% of Americans view nurses as the most honest and ethical workers—a sentiment that has held strong for decades.

Meanwhile, trust in other professions has declined, with nearly all seeing a dip in ethical ratings compared to last year. Among the least trusted were politicians, car salespeople, and advertising executives, who ranked at the bottom of the list.

Labor leaders, or “union bosses,” stood out for maintaining their position on the poll—but not for positive reasons. Their ratings remained unchanged, reflecting already low levels of public trust.

The findings highlight a broader trend of skepticism toward various industries, with fewer Americans expressing confidence in the ethics of most professions.
