VERONA, Italy — A restaurant in Italy is offering a free bottle of wine to customers who agree to lock away their phones during their meal as part of a social experiment aimed at encouraging face-to-face conversations.

The experiment at 'Al Condominio' in Verona has not only made the dining atmosphere more vibrant and enjoyable, but it has also led to diners being noticeably more animated by the time the third course is served.
